Alan Cobb is an industry-renowned expert in the field of geotechnical engineering, with a geotechnical consulting career spanning nearly 50 years. He is a former senior partner at GWP, where he worked from 1976 to 2022 and is now a consultant to the practice.

Alan has extensive experience in matters relating to excavations, fill slopes, materials handling, and environmental impacts arising from mining and quarrying. Alan has co-authored publications on slope stability, tip design and mining subsidence and has frequently acted as expert witness in Public Inquiries, the High Court, and the Lands Tribunal.
