Feasibility Studies, Valuations, Financial Analysis

Our specialist capabilities include resource evaluations, building of discounted cash flow valuation models for mineral and landfill operations and the preparation of sales particulars, competent persons’ reports, bankable documents and prospectuses for rights issues on international stock exchanges.


 

Expert witness and litigation support

Partners and senior staff at GWP have the necessary skills and experience to prepare and present expert evidence relating to the geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical, mining and operational aspects of litigation, planning inquiries and contractual claims relating to the extractive industries. The Practice has acted for mineral operators, mineral owners, mineral planning authorities and those affected by past or present mineral workings.

GWP's services include:

  • appraisal of documentation, including technical literature, and objective advice on the technical strengths and weaknesses of a case;
  • site investigations, analyses and interpretation of data;
  • preparation of experts’ reports and proofs of evidence;
  • liaison with lawyers, including attendance at conferences with Counsel;
  • attendance at experts’ meetings and appearances at planning inquiries, courts, arbitration hearings, contractual negotiations and public meetings.

Due diligence, support for mergers and acquisitions

GWP has extensive international experience working with aggregates and cement companies and others seeking to acquire or sell quarry assets and related infrastructure.

This experience includes:

  • regional and national resource and market studies to identify opportunities, strategies and potential new markets;
  • raw materials and environmental investigations as part of due diligence for acquisition targets;
  • resource and reserve estimation and preparation of “bankable documents” following internationally recognised reporting codes;
  • implementation of economic models as part of due diligence or competent person’s reporting and related sensitivity analysis;
  • support to the creation of strategic, short and medium term operational and business plans and/or permitting and licensing for new operations.
